Peer works with our clients to design solutions related to the identification and abatement of hazardous materials affecting building renovation and demolition projects. We complete the up-front survey, assessment and inventory work required to identify the quantity, location, and type of asbestos, lead-based paint, and other hazardous materials (and/or contaminants) that must be addressed during building renovation or demolition.
Once the up-front work is completed, we use our experience as consultants to develop an abatement solution that achieves the overall project needs and integrates with the architect’s work and schedule. In some cases this involves a complete set of plans and specifications, and contract documents for contractor bidding. In other instances, Peer develops plans and specifications that are incorporated as a subsection to contract documents prepared by the architect or other design professionals.
If requested, Peer will “turnkey” the entire abatement project using both in-house capabilities and the capabilities of our business associates. Turnkey abatement services can often result in cost savings to the owner and can significantly accelerate the abatement process.

In addition to the typical hazardous materials issues associated with buildings (for example, asbestos and lead-based paint), Peer is experienced in the sampling/testing and mitigation/remediation of radon and mold in multi-family housing. We provide a full range of mitigation/remediation services for both radon and mold including: mitigation/remediation design, preparation of plans/specifications, mitigation/remediation oversight, and turnkey mitigation/remediation.
