Since 1995, Peer has provided on-going consulting services to the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) in connection with the FAA “Part 150 Sound Insulation Program.” Under this program, some 1,200 homes are renovated each year with acoustic windows, air conditioning and other modifications to reduce the effects of aircraft noise.

Peer’s role includes preparation of asbestos abatement specifications, evaluating contractor bid submittals, scheduling and coordinating the abatement work, documenting the abatement activities to ensure contractor compliance with the specifications, and public relations with the respective home owners.

Peer has also provided consulting services for separate noise abatement projects implemented by the MAC within the New Ford Town and Rich Acres subdivisions of Richfield. Peer’s role included completion of comprehensive asbestos and hazardous materials surveys and preparation of the related abatement specifications for over 200 houses targeted for relocation and/or demolition.

We were also retained by the City of Richfield to perform similar work as part of an Airport Noise Reduction Initiative.
